Aaron Brill, Founder and CEO of Silverton Mountain Guides Alaska Heli, announced today that Di Whitney will be joining the company as Vice President of Operations.

Whitney, a lifelong Alaskan, continues her long and successful career in the ski industry, most recently serving as General Manager and VP of Alyeska Ski Resort in Girdwood, AK. “Di brings a tremendous passion for skiing as well as over twenty-five years of experience in the ski industry,” said Brill.

“I am extremely excited to be able to bring someone of Di's caliber to join us in building our business,” stated Brill. “After operating in the Northern Chugach since 2009 and expanding our operations into Seward this past season, we are ready to add executive talent and take Silverton Mountain Guides to the next level.  Whitney is uniquely qualified as our VP because she not only knows the business side, but she has been an active leader in Alaska skiing and the backcountry.”

“This past December we opened our newest base of operations in Seward, Alaska to accommodate expanded demand,” Brill continued, “And we are excited to be heading into a new phase with Di Whitney onboard. Seward heli-skiing has been wildly popular as the season starts significantly earlier than anywhere else and is going to be focused on providing skiing options for local skiers with lower priced single drops, while also providing a boost to the local economy by bringing in destination skiers."

A longtime leader in the snow sports industry, Whitney has spent the majority of her career in high level positions for companies. “Joining Aaron, Jen and the team at Silverton Mountain Guides is a truly amazing opportunity and I couldn’t be more thrilled,” said Whitney. “I am excited to help Silverton Mountain Guides Alaska Heli achieve their next set of business goals in our great state of Alaska. Aaron and Jen Brill are especially innovative and passionate about skiing as they founded Silverton Mountain Ski Area in Colorado 15 years ago from the ground up and have created a very popular niche for Silverton Mountain Guides Alaska Heli.”
