David Wallace has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Mat-Su Regional Medical Center, effective June 5th. Wallace has served as CEO of AllianceHealth Woodward, an 87-bed hospital in Woodward, Oklahoma, for the past seven years.
“I look forward to supporting the talented physicians and caregivers at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center,” Wallace said. “Because of their hard work, the hospital is known for being a place where patients can trust that they will receive quality, compassionate care.”
During his tenure at AllianceHealth Woodward, Wallace successfully recruited new providers to introduce new specialties and grow existing services. The hospital has also achieved safety and quality excellence, and experienced consistently high employee and physician satisfaction scores. He previously served in leadership positions at hospitals in Oklahoma, Ohio, California and New York. Wallace holds a master’s degree in Health Administration from the Ohio State University and bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Health Science from California State University, Fresno.

Mat-Su Regional Medical Center is a 74-bed state-of-the-art healthcare facility that provides advanced surgical service, including robotics, cardiac care, emergency services, diagnostic imaging, a sleep lab, an urgent care center, the Family Birthing Center and is home of the 30-Minutes-or-Less ER Service Pledge.
In the past few years, Mat-Su Regional has earned a string of impressive honors, including being the first hospital in Alaska to earn accreditation as a chest pain center from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care, and the first hospital to earn NICHE designation, recognizing the organization’s superior care of elderly patients. Mat-Su Regional is the only hospital in Alaska to earn The Joint Commission’s Top Performer for Key Quality Measures award three times. The hospital has also earned Mountain Pacific’s Highest Quality Care Award five of the past six years, and was named by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of 150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare for 2017.
