Alaska is a very diverse state, and that’s what makes it unique along with the beautiful mountains, lake, rivers and trails to enjoy all year long summer or winter.

Filipino - American Community of Matsu Kabayan Inc. is hosting its 1st Annual World Day 5K Run & Kids 1-Mile Run. Experience the one-of-a-kind run with a twist! Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Palmer Public Library, we are inviting any nationalities living in the Mat-Su and neighboring areas to come and join us in celebrating diversity.

 Dress for success! We encourage participants to show different nationalities, culture or traditions within Alaska. We want to celebrate our diverse state. You can even come as you are or wear any traditional dress/costume or show the color of your country of origin or any country you want to represent. A prize for the best national dress/costume and awards for each age group. Post-run refreshment will be available. This event is for the whole family. The Kids Fun Run is for ages, 4 – 17.



Race Info:
•    Bib Pick-Up - May 11, 2018 at Three Bears, Trunk Rd. 5pm-7pm
•    May 12, 2018 Race Day Bib Pick-Up (not encouraged) closes at 10am
•    10am – Late Registration
•    10:30am  -  Meet
•    11:00am - Kids 1-Mile
•    11:30am - Adults 5K Walk/Run

Fees:
•    Adults - $30 early bird until 4/15/18, $40 after
•    Kids - $10 early bird until 4/15/18, $15 (ages 4-8) (age 9-13) (age 14-17)
•    Family - $50 early bird until 4/15/18, $75 after for family of 4 (must sign up at the same time)

This is a fundraising event. Proceeds benefit Meals For Wheels Mat-Su.

About Meals For Wheels Mat-Su:
Meals for Wheels Mat-Su deliver meals to seniors (60 years or older) who are homebound, no longer driving, unable to prepare food themselves and do not have a caregiver that prepares meals. Meals are provided based on need, not on income. Meals are delivered between 10:00am and 12:00pm noon, Monday through Friday.
