Riley Paige Conniff is a local filmmaker and storyteller. She has made three short films to date. Bear Trek was an entry to the Adam Young Scores Short Film Contest in 2016, where contestants were allowed to use music created under the Adam Young Scores project. Bear Trek 2 was the long-planned sequel, based on the original idea thought up by Riley and her brother back in 2010. It was released in 2022 and made as a project during Riley’s education at The Los Angeles Film School.
The Matts’ Christmas was a variation on an old idea and was made as Riley’s capstone project in late 2022. It was her first live-action film, released in 2023, and premiered at 203 Kombucha right here in Palmer. Its sequel, The Matts’ Halloween, has a planned release in October of this year. Bear Trek 2 and The Matts’ Christmas were scored by Riley’s brother, Cooper Rae Blankenship, who is a student at Berklee College of Music for Film and Media Scoring.
Riley’s upcoming projects include: The Lyowyn Princess, a medieval princess fantasy adventure with a twist; My Friends in Bantry, a multi-cam sitcom set in Bantry, Ireland, whose pilot script was a second rounder at the Austin Film Festival in 2024; and The Bowling Team, a sports comedy show that is both a love letter to and a farce on fiction.
