Join Us for MEA’s Annual Meeting – Connect, Learn, and Be Heard

Contributed by Matanuska Electric Association

Members of Matanuska Electric Association are invited to attend the 2026 Annual Meeting, a great opportunity to connect with your co-op, learn more about the future of energy in our community, and have your voice heard.

MEA’s Annual Meeting will be on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the Glenn Massay Theater (8295 E College Drive, Palmer, Alaska). Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. (usually lasts about an hour).

The Annual Meeting is more than just a meeting, it’s a chance to engage directly with the people powering your community. Whether you’re interested in understanding how decisions are made, learning about upcoming projects, or simply connecting with others, this event offers something for everyone.

As an electric cooperative, you are not just a customer, you’re a member and an owner. The Annual Meeting is your opportunity to learn about the co-op’s priorities, projects, and plans for delivering safe, reliable, and affordable power; ask questions and share feedback directly with MEA’s Board of Directors and leadership team; and stay informed about the energy landscape and what it means for you and your family. Your voice matters, and this is one of the most important ways to be part of shaping MEA’s future.

This year’s meeting will also feature a variety of local community organizations and informational booths, giving members a chance to connect with partners and resources from across the region. Enjoy light refreshments, visit with neighbors, and be entered to win prizes including a retired MEA fleet vehicle. As a thank you for participating, members who attend will receive a $10 bill credit.

The Annual Meeting is your opportunity to share your thoughts, ideas, and feedback on how your co-op moves forward toward an affordable, reliable energy future.

Members can also hear directly from board candidates and cast their vote in person if they haven’t already voted online. For those who prefer to attend remotely, the meeting will also be available via Zoom, and members must register on Zoom in advance. Attending the Annual Meeting on Zoom will also earn you a $10 bill credit and you’ll also be eligible to win prizes during the meeting.
