Make A Scene Magazine is where it all began—our original arts and entertainment publication, proudly printed in Alaska since 2007. Created by and for local artists, musicians, and creatives, you’ll find it folded inside every issue of The People’s Paper.
In 2001, Dr. Maria Krinock saw two urgent crises gripping Alaska’s remote communities: rising food costs and a growing wave of suicide. Determined to respond, she founded Lifeline Outreach, a faith-based initiative that blends humanitarian aid with suicide prevention. What began as one woman’s vision has grown into a lifeline for communities across the state.

Tucked along Bogard Road, Gems of the Earth & More has become a go-to destination in the Valley for anyone who loves crystals, minerals, fossils, jewelry, and unique natural gifts.
