Three Bears Alaska Celebrates Annual “Shop with a Purpose” Event

On Dec. 12, 2025, Three Bears Alaska hosted its annual Shop with a Purpose event, donating 10% of all grocery sales and 5% of fuel sales across every location to support local food banks and essential community organizations.
“As an Alaskan-owned company, this annual event reflects the heart of who we are, as well as our long-standing commitment to the communities we serve. Because of our incredible customers and team members, we are able to give back in a meaningful way to the communities that support us. It is an honor to help strengthen food security and provide critical assistance to families and individuals across the regions we call home,” said a senior company spokesperson.
The Shop with a Purpose initiative began in 2023 as a grassroots idea among Three Bears Alaska leadership. Since then, the idea has grown significantly, doubling total donations in just a few years. Customers have embraced the opportunity to shop on a single day, realizing it has a dramatic impact locally.
In 2025, Shop with a Purpose generated $111,912.71 in contributions to local communities:

Butte, Montana Emergency Food Bank, $6,118.60;
Salvation Army Ketchikan, $6,378.71;
Upper Susitna Food Pantry, $466.11;
Unalaskans Against Sexual Abuse and Family Violence, $2,286.14;
Mat-Su Food Bank, $24,290.38;
North Pole / St. Jude’s Episcopal Church Food Pantry, $9,898.45;
Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church Food Pantry, $4,160.81;
Healy Neighbor to Neighbor, $3,869.64;
Kenai Peninsula Food Bank, $15,432.44;
Tok Helping Hands Food Bank, $4,357.17;
Fairbanks Community Food Bank, $2,877.65;
Delta Five Loaves Pantry, $3,507.36;
Chugiak–Eagle River Food Pantry, $8,016.48;
