Portland based songwriter Sam Densmore will be on the road in Alaska with Pretty Gritty this month. The “Keep the Porch Light On Tour 2016” will feature sets from both Sam Densmore and Pretty Gritty. He'll be playing songs from his back catalog and new material from his forthcoming album, "Open Marriage".
His music follows in the tradition of folk and rock n roll songwriters such as John Lennon, Neil Young, WILCO and David Bowie. He travels constantly, and has performed over 125 shows per year since 2010. Sam has had music placed in the Showtime TV series 'Shameless' and the film 'Bear City'. He's also previously released 4 albums with his former band, Silverhawk.
Pretty Gritty is the serendipitous joining of the talents of Blaine Heinonen and Sarah Wolff, both born and raised in Montgomery County, MD. Although they originate from different rock bands, fate brought them together at local “open-mic” nights, where it became evident that they shared an interest in writing and performing songs that mix country, rock, blues, and soul. It’s said that she brings the “pretty” while he brings the “gritty”, combining for an engaging alt-country duo with seducing harmonies and addicting acoustics.
These two wonderful bands from Portland, Oregon are ready to share their songs with you. Sam Densmore & Pretty Gritty will delight you with catchy chords, haunting harmonies and heartfelt lyrics. This show is not to be missed.
