Nightmare at the Museum: A Spine-Chilling Fundraiser with Heart Every Friday and Saturday in October 6-9pm.
The Museum of Alaska is using frightful fun for good this October with its annual fundraiser, Nightmare at the Museum, a haunted attraction that promises thrills, chills, and a powerful purpose. This event supports Family Promise Mat-Su, a local nonprofit dedicated to helping families experiencing homelessness regain stability and independence.
A Haunted Experience with a Mission Set within the museum’s historic halls, Nightmare at the Museum transforms vintage train cars into eerie encounters. Visitors will navigate haunted trains, encounter ghostly figures from Alaska’s past, and face surprises lurking around every corner. Then take a Hayride through haunted artifacts for more thrills and scary stuff! Behind the screams is a deeper story—every ticket sold helps fund shelter, meals, and support services for families in crisis.
Family Promise Mat-Su has been a lifeline for struggling families in the Valley, offering not just temporary shelter but long-term solutions. “We’re thrilled to partner with the Museum of Alaska,” said Executive Director Ginger Bear. “This event brings the community together in a fun, creative way while supporting families who need us most.”
Volunteers from across the Valley are coming together to build sets, design costumes, and bring the museum’s spooky transformation to life.
Want to help? The museum is still seeking volunteers and sponsors. Whether you’re a scare actor, set builder, or just want to donate, your support makes a difference.
