City of Wasilla 4th of July Parade: Front Porch Freedom
Contributed by Bethany Buckingham Follett
The City of Wasilla 4th of July Parade will be held Saturday, July 4, 2026, beginning at 11 a.m. in downtown Wasilla.
The parade route flows from Wasilla High School to Crusey Street, crosses to E. Swanson Avenue, continues up Lucille Street, and circles back to E. Nelson Avenue/E. Bogard Road to end at Wasilla High School.
As a friendly reminder, please keep your family behind barricades, on sidewalks, in grassy areas, and in designated safe areas. Barricades are set up at the parade for a reason and have been identified by a safety officer as necessary. Please keep the parade route open for parade traffic by staying off the pavement and remaining on sidewalks or grassy areas. Please be mindful of intersections, as parade vehicles may need wide space to turn. For more safety tips, visit cityofwasilla.gov.
Following the parade, join us for the Mayor’s Picnic from 1 to 3 p.m. at Iditapark, 500 W. Nelson Avenue. Enjoy free hot dogs while supplies last, take part in a hot dog eating contest, enjoy fun activities, and hear live music provided by Music in the Park.
Music in the Park will continue the celebration from 3 to 9 p.m., after the parade and Mayor’s Picnic. For more info, visit musicintheparkwasilla.com.
Reminder: There will be no fireworks displays for the City of Wasilla 4th of July events due to July typically being high fire season.
There is still time to sponsor the parade. Call 907-373-9050 and press Option 1.
