On June 6, Alaska Addiction Rehabilitation Services (AARS) warmly invites the community to come together for one of its most significant annual events: Fun Day 2026. Beyond being a community celebration, Fun Day serves as a valuable opportunity for families, supporters, alumni, and community members to experience the heart of AARS’ mission while enjoying a fun-filled day of activities, connection, and hope.

The AARS campus in Point Mackenzie will host Fun Day 2026, featuring a range of family-friendly attractions and activities that will appeal to all ages. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a community barbecue, bouncy houses, children’s activities, games, and raffle prize drawings.

Additionally, farm tours will be available, along with chances to find out more about our expanding programs and projects taking place across the campus. The event provides attendees with an opportunity to connect with AARS staff, volunteers, alumni, and supporters dedicated to assisting Alaskans in achieving lasting recovery.

This year’s event will feature the opportunity to see the progress of AARS’ major residential expansion project, which is approaching completion. The upcoming opening of our facility expansion is expected to happen later this summer, enabling AARS to significantly increase our ability to support individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorder throughout Alaska.

Community members attending Fun Day will have the opportunity to see firsthand the progress of the expansion project as it approaches completion. The expansion of our facility represents a significant advancement for recovery services in Alaska, demonstrating years of strategic planning, collaboration, and community support. Upon completion, the expanded residential building will enable AARS to serve a greater number of Alaskans in need of treatment, while also improving opportunities for healing, stability, and long-term recovery.

Fun Day highlights the unique vocational and agricultural opportunities offered by AARS. Nugen’s Ranch, our operational ranch and farming brand located on the AARS campus, provides clients with the opportunity to enhance their recovery through work therapy. Visitors can explore our greenhouse projects, gardening activities, livestock management, and hands-on, real-world vocational training programs designed to support clients in building confidence, acquiring job skills, and fostering a sense of purpose during their recovery journey.

The value of Fun Day each year lies in the strong sense of community it fosters. Alumni return each year to celebrate their recovery milestones, families gather for an enjoyable summer outing, and community members are afforded the chance to gain an understanding of the significant impact that recovery programs can have on individuals and families across Alaska.

At its essence, Fun Day embodies the conviction that recovery is attainable and that the support of the community is vital. Whether guests attend for the food, activities, and tours, or to support the mission of AARS, it is our hope that visitors will depart with a better understanding of the hope and transformation occurring daily in people’s lives at AARS.

Everyone is warmly invited to participate in the celebration of this incredible season of growth for AARS. As the organization gears up to open its new facility expansion later this summer, Fun Day 2026 stands as a celebration of progress and a reminder of the potential for brighter futures through recovery, compassion, and community support.
