Spring Has Arrived in Talkeetna, Alaska!

Most stores are open now, and most of the snow is finally melting! We are excited to get our season started for 2026!
We have new businesses to announce: The Burger Barn has new owners and is now open until 6 PM daily. Tk Tacos is a new business featuring breakfast tacos, donuts and coffee in the mornings, then all kinds of tacos after 11 p.m. Aurora Leather Works has new owners. All three are in the Talkeetna Trading Post building next to Frontier Gifts, with a full line of fur pelts!
We are expecting a record number of visitors this year, with extra tours, cruise ships and RV travelers than ever before! Be sure to make reservations ahead of time.
Plan for two big weekend events: the 4th of July Talkeetna Parade at noon, along with a 13-team softball tournament for the weekend. Memorial Day weekend will also have another softball tournament.
The AK train is running new schedules, as well as the Hurricane Train tour. Mayhay’s boat tours are just waiting for the ice to melt in the river to start their boat tours. We have climbers ready to climb Denali and many flights to view the great views of Denali as well. Dog mushing tours are available by several mushers. Princess and Holland America tours are starting next weekend, as well as several other tour lines.
Make your reservations for the RV parks now, as they are already filling up for the new year. Talkeetna welcomes all visitors!
